Important Information Please Read

I HAVE QUESTIONS: You can call +1-603-235-9192 or WhatsApp (the prefered method). Call any time day or night and we will reply back quickly. There is no land line in the home. Everyone these days uses the internet or a SIM card in your mobile phone. If an emergency call Krisa at Tel: +297 569-6384 .

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE: On your online ED landing card, specify the address as the Hilton. Tell everyone in your group. You pick -> Hotel-> Hilton from the pull down. See below: We have had people pulled out of line with major delays as the street address is mis pronounced, mis spelled or other address issues. The above keeps it simple & works 100% of the time–no multi hour delays after long flights!

WHEN YOU LAND: We strongly recommend you enable an international plan on your phone or pick up a SIM card for your mobile phone. Your phone MUST be unlocked for this to work. Check with your carrier if it's unlocked BEFORE you leave for Aruba. SIM cards can be purchased directly at the airport. When you land and walk out into the terminal after customs, look to your right and give the person at the DigiCell or SETAR desk your phone. We recommend 2Gig+ plan for each week you stay. Should be about $35 for re-useable SIM card and $35 for data plan for your cell phone for your entire trip. This will give you a local number (local businesses only call local numbers) and loads of data for Apple Maps, Waze, Maps.me, and all those Facebook/Insta pictures from the Beach. Remember, you’re in a foreign country so if you don’t do a SIM card your phone should be left in airplane mode with WIFI on to avoid data charges when you return. WiFi calling might be an option as well. The airport has free WIFI and use WhatsApp or similar apps to make calls over the internet. Aruba’s country code is 297.

PLEASE before you leave in your rental car you MUST WhatsApp to the chat group to coordinate your arrival check in at the house and avoid check-in delays.

Please go directly to the villa for check in. GPS Directions to 29 Malmokweg Noord are accurate and will bring you to the correct location. Park next to the gray wall with orange wood. Walk in thru the small orange wooden door. Walk straight up to the glade Front door. Krisa will be waiting for you. If additional cash is to be paid for your reservation please pay at that time.

HOW DO I GET TO THE VILLA?:

There are many options for car rentals. We highly recommend using renting a car from Hotwire.com. This will give you a range of options and pricing to choose from depending on the size of your party. Definitely recommend getting one from a major USA company i.e. Hertz, Alamo, etc… that is located at the airport. Since you have a local SIM card from the DigiCell or SETAR kiosk just open up Maps.me or Apple Maps and plug in Aruba Haven. If you don’t have a SIM then before you leave the airport download the application called Maps.Me. The Aruba Haven is located on this program that works without internet. The home should come right up. GPS Directions to 29 Malmokweg Noord are accurate and will bring you to the correct location. Park next to the gray wall with orange wood. To arrange a taxi, before you land just email BullyTaxi79@hotmail.com and he will meet you. From the airport to the home will be about $39USD and will take about 20 minutes. That’s more than the cost of renting a car for an entire day by the way. We strongly recommend renting a car from Hotwire.com and only a major American brand like Avis, Hertz, etc….that are located at the airport. All the rules of the road in the USA apply in Aruba. Getting around is very easy.

Don’t be afraid to rent a car and explore the island.

HOW DO I GET IN?:

If cash USD is due to be paid to Krisa please remember no checks, credit cards, venmo, zelle etc… cash means cash in hand at that time.

This home is keyless. Nothing to lose. No duplicate keys needed. You will enter a number on the key pad to enter. Krisa will meet you at the home to check your party in with your unique number code. When you arrive park along the road / orange fence. This area and Aruba in general is very safe. Use common sense (lock your car) of course as always as you would anywhere. We have multi hour power outages from time to time in Aruba – the driveway gate is electric. We don’t want you trapped if the power goes out. Please park along the road for your entire stay and walk in via the small walkway gate. The code for the driveway (and side) gate if you do need to use it is1966 and the right arrow button.

INTERNET: Work remote if you must. Home has fiber internet with a 300 mbs connection. The Aruba Haven has very fast reliable wireless internet throughout the home. The WIFI Password is aruba123 Feel free to use TiviMate, NetFlix, Music etc.... from the 4K UHD TV in the home. Switch source inputs and explore. We leave Netflix logged in for you to use. Please don’t sign out of Judy’s account. There is an Alexa connected to speakers as well. Bring a portable Bluetooth speker with you for the beach and by the pool.

TV: All the TV’s have the local cable tv subscription. The main TV however also has a special programming box. Use the triangular remote only. Go to HDMI 1 then select Nvidia box -> select TiviMate. From there you have 3000+ channels to choose from. Near the bottom of that menu are all the major USA sporting networks.

WATER: Water is a ULTRA expensive precious commodity. So please use it with great conservation. Limit shower water – we encourage showering together to conserve. Turn off the shower when you're soaping up. Please conserve. No dripping faucets or running toilets. If you see something say something to us. We have a special sensor that detects drips and shuts off the water to the whole house. Should you find the water is off. Please triple check all water things in all 5 bathrooms, showers, toilets, hoses, faucets, kitchen etc... then contact Krisa. Thank you very much.

A/C & ELECTRIC: Electric is MEGA ULTRA expensive in Aruba. Leave all ceiling fans on always LOW to conserve cooling. Aruba uses standard 110 volt outlets. We do have one Euro styled 220 volt outlet by the bed in the master bedroom. Please do not plug in and use hair dryers and curling irons at the same time in all bathrooms. The circuit breaker will trip if you try that. The home is very well insulated (very rare in Aruba) and rooms have wall air conditioners and occupancy sensors. MUST TURN OFF AC WHEN YOU LEAVE HOME. There are occupancy sensors that also will shut the AC off after 1 hour of no movement. If you cover the sensor or move them you wont have AC so please do not block the sensors. In case, you’re not familiar with these kinds of units they take about 30 minutes to start up and blow cold. This is not like the USA styled A/C units. So if you turn them on we recommend setting them no lower than 23 and make sure the mode is set to the snowflake. In 15 minutes it will very slowly begin to cool the room. PLEASE DO NOT SET IT TO THE less than 23. IT DOESN’T COOL ANY FASTER and WILL FREEZE UP and SHUTOFF AUTOMATICALLY. If this happens the units requiring a service call, paid by you and major comfort delay.

(usually 48 hours) to cooling you as the unit will have to defrost. If the walls are warm it will take some hours for everything to cool off then you will see the home will be very cool dry and comfortable. We have found that if you leave the ceiling fans on medium and all room doors closed always, it's best for maximum comfort. Make sure all room and sliding doors and windows stay closed when the air conditioners are turned on. This saves a very expensive and precious resource in Aruba (electric) and keeps you safe from certain critters running into the house unnoticed and surprising you! Again, I know it's common sense but please turn off all the AC units when you leave the villa eachday for the beach! Thank you. All Airco’s are programmed to turn off at 11am in case you forget : ) To Turn on just press the power button.

GROCERIES: No one gives you bags so please bring your own bags. We leave some in the front closet. If you pick one up and can leave it it's appreciated. We recommend food shopping close by at the Doit Center. It's like a Whole Foods/Home Depot kind of place and just up the road. Super Foods is good just very crowded and has a quarter coin deposit for carts. As you will see there are predominantly Chinese run small markets all over the island. When turning right from the home there are a number of stores just a few minutes down the road. Great for the small incidentals i.e. cream, beer, coffee, etc... Double check the change they give you by the way! The exchange rate is 1USD to 1.75 AFL/AWG. Remember the water in Aruba is PERFECT. The coffee you can get is amazing and fresh from Columbia.

There is a Dunkin Donuts about 2 miles from the house. So for the main shopping there are 2 places we recommend: 1) Ling and Sons +297 583 2370 Schotlandstraat 41, Oranjestad, Aruba This is just like your typical USA super market with all the brands you are used to and familiar. Closes around 9PM and all holidays so call first if not sure. 2) Super Foods +297 522 2000 Bubali 141-A, Noord, Aruba. This is a more Dutch/Euro feeling super market. VERY popular and always crowded so go at the off times. Avoid Saturday and Sunday as it's just too busy – stay on the beach. They have a phone app and delivery service as well. Just schedule it so you are 100% going to be at the house. Companies and locals are NOT punctual so plan accordingly.

SECURITY: The area is generally very safe. Neighbors do look out for each other so if you see something say something to us. The villa has security cameras for your protection. Feel free to unplug or turn off but you 100% MUST MUST plug all back in and turn on before you leave. We do strongly recommend that you always leave them on when you leave the home and at night for your protection and to help the police in the unlikely event something happens. Should something happen, this is the only way to help the local authorities get the bad guys. Having said all this please use common sense and don’t leave things out such as laptops, wallets, passports etc… in plain sight. The wall safe in the master bedroom code is 159A. Please use the safe. Rear cameras you turn off from the wall switch to the left of the slider. Front outside security cameras are always on. Again, last person to go to sleep or leave the home should turn all back on when they lock all the doors and put the cameras on. They will turn on at 3am in case you forget.

WHITE DOOR LOCKS: These locks are a little unusual for most people to initially figure out. They are all new so please don’t jam and break them. The rear right slider to unlock the right slider you first rotate the lower knob clockwise, THEN lift the lever. To lock lower the lever and then rotate the knob counter clockwise. The front door: to unlock the front door you first lift handle up, then rotate the lower knob clockwise. To lock lift handle up then rotate the knob counter clockwise.

CHILD CARE: There are a lot of resources in Aruba as you can tell from this guide. From time to time it's nice to go out without the kids. So as always do your research and be comfortable on your own. This DOES lead the list. This is for the special occasion or the very serious foodie that appreciates a Michelin type experience. The food is incredible, fantastic and I just can’t gush enough about it. Note its way way expensive and its worth it! Expect about $250 per person. Dress up, go hungry and expect to be blown away. Need reservations 3 months in advance.

I personally can’t get enough of this place. For lunch only – go in your beach clothes kind of place. It's classic Aruban fare done up the right way. Buy shrimp or fish by the pound, they cook it and bring it to your picnic table that is along the waters edge. Fantastic and very scenic.

Again, eating directly in white sand is just a perfect setting for dinner. Food is good, prices are OK. Service is decent.

Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd 1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in ‘old school’ traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience gives their dishes an original flavor with a touch of Caribbean in it. This is very close to Super foods in one of the back neighborhoods. Very good and a reservation is recommended.

This one you need a reservation for. It’s about a 35 minute drive or so depending on traffic. It's past the airport on the coast. It’s just steps away from the lunch recommendation above at ZeeRover. It’s a gorgeous setting and very much worth going. They describe themselves as: Proud of our status as the first Aruban restaurant to popularize on-the-beach dining, we invite you to embark upon a special culinary journey at the Flying Fishbone against the backdrop of a gorgeous sunset, magically replaced by a starry sky and the soft, romantic light cast by tiki torches and table lanterns.

Great place, nice setting. A little pricey but it is a higher end place. Here is there description: Surrounded by a lush garden, around a turquoise, sparkling pool with twinkling lights in the tree branches, the setting is magical. The 126-yearold Aruban "cunucu" house next to the pool is filled with gorgeous antiques from Europe, the oldest dating back to the early 1800’s. It’s the personal touches that make this place so wonderful: real flowers in amazingly beautiful arrangements, the polished utensils of a former, more leisure, era and the intense pride of knowing that you serve wonderful dishes. Need reservations 2 months in advance.

It's kind of an icon on the island. Located across from Eagle Beach - The look and feel is kind of classic classy old school, but you definitely feel like family. I loved the buzz in the restaurant and the hosts were fantastic. Everybody was hugging their waiters and waitresses saying "see you next year!". Beef Stronganoff and Veal Schnitzel are favorites. Reservations are recommended. Top notch and you wont be disappointed.

Just around the corner very close just past Arashi beach. Reservations recommended. Fair to average Italian and decent prices but the view is to die for. The place as you would imagine gets very very busy for sunsets. Get a reservation for 6:30 and take your time and enjoy…We recommend going for drinks and apps/sunset…not for a full dinner.

So this one is dinner oriented. Here you just got to trust us. When you pull up it doesn’t look like much but sit down and enjoy some of the best Columbian food we have found. Prices are way reasonable (down right cheap) and the portions plus quality are excellent.

CHALO BURGER:

Has to be the best burger I have ever had. Really good. So, it’s a permanent food truck – I know what you’re thinking but it’s really good. Try it if you’re hungry. You will love the garlic sauce. Too find it just put the full name in maps.me for guidance. By the way, the burger food trucks are a thing in Aruba. On the way to Baby beach, you will see them. Stop in and give them a try. Each food truck is trying to outdo the others. I love a good burger personally….

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant on our last trip in Aruba. Food was delish and definitely had an authentic flavor. Service was very friendly and top notch and the atmosphere was perfect. Columbian style. Very good tequila and beer. Columbian platter was great and different.

This is on the other side of the island so plan on going for lunch when you head down to Rum Reef and Baby Beach. The curry is excellent. West Indies styled home cooking. Super yummy.

Relaxation is what vacation is all about. We hope you have all the comforts at the villa to use and enjoy. Most importantly to layout in one of the chaise lounge chairs by the pool, soak up some sun and just relax. Read a book in the hammock or in our palapa and catch some sleep. We are starting a Book Swap by the way. So, if you finish a book please leave it behind in the cabinet under the living room TV. If you find one at the house and don't finish it, please take it with you.

BEACHES (There are 17+ to choose from!)

We highly recommend you bring water shoes with you to the beaches. Some areas have coral. Snorkeling gear is also nice to have or buy locally. Amazon is a good source. You are now located very close to some of the nicest beaches in the world.

Our personal favorite is Arashi Beach. Turn left out of the driveway and bear right to the California Lighthouse. Just a couple minutes up the road is Arashi. Parking is free. There is a small beach bar with food and wifi. Huts are free and available on a first come first serve basis. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas on the beach– The beach chair “Professionals” will size you up- remember it’s a cash business- Negotiate! Also available at Arashi are Seadoo sea scooters to see some incredible snorkeling scenes. Sunsets are stunning- pack cooler and take in the view. Make camp by the bar for wifi and “on beach” cocktail service.

PALM BEACH: Palm Beach is the most popular beach in Aruba, and for good reason. With its soft white sand, turquoise waters, and stunning sunsets, it's a beachgoer's paradise. The beach is lined with luxurious resorts, restaurants, and water sports activities, making it the perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure.

EAGLE BEACH: Eagle Beach is often ranked as one of the top beaches in the world, and it's easy to see why. The beach features powdery white sand, clear waters, and the iconic divi-divi trees that add a touch of natural beauty to the landscape. Eagle Beach is also known for its tranquility, making it an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the serenity.

ARASHI BEACH: If you're a fan of snorkeling or scuba diving, Arashi Beach is a must-visit. This secluded beach offers excellent underwater visibility and a vibrant marine life. Grab your snorkeling gear and explore the colorful coral reefs and tropical fish that call Arashi Beach home. The calm waters also make it a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. North Arashi is very private and a favorite for topless sun bathing.

BABY BEACH: Located on the southeastern tip of the island, Baby Beach is a hidden gem. Its shallow and calm waters make it an ideal spot for families with young children. The beach gets its name from the shallow lagoon, which resembles a natural baby pool. Soak up the sun, take a dip in the clear waters, and enjoy a picnic on the pristine shores of Baby Beach.

MALMOK BEACH: Malmok Beach is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, particularly windsurfers and kitesurfers. The beach is known for its constant trade winds and shallow waters, providing the perfect conditions for these exhilarating activities. If you're not into water sports, Malmok Beach is still worth a visit for its picturesque scenery and breathtaking sunsets.

We also highly recommend Eagle Beach. Eagle is regularly ranked in the top 10 beaches in the world. It is about a 10 minute drive! Yes you can walk across the street for drinks and bring them to the beach or in your cooler. They also offer chairs, huts and umbrellas.

Mangel Halto Beach This secluded beach is a perfect sunning and snorkeling spot in Aruba with calm, shallow waters rich in sea life supported by an intriguing network of mangroves. Very very private and a favorite for nude sun bathing.

Baby Beach Located in the southern part of Aruba, close to San Nicolas, is a true Caribbean beach paradise. This gorgeous half-moon sandy expanse in a calm lagoon is ideal for families with small kids. The shallow waters make it a prime beach destination for swimmers who like to wade out for a long distance and still touch the sea bottom. Where the bay opens out to the ocean, Baby Beach also offers the perfect location for snorkeling; for your safety please stay within the marked snorkel area. Baby Beach offers a refreshment stand where you can also enjoy a hamburger or hotdog whilst mingling with the locals.

Big Mama's Grill offers bbq, as well as seafood platters, in case you have a bigger appetite.

We recommend reservations with Road Runner ATV http://www.arubaatv.com. You need to call a few days in advance. We like this company as they will drop off and pick directly at the Aruba Haven! Make sure you have your camera ready, phone with GPS and a paper map they will give to you. We personally enjoy the loop from the house, towards the California light house then left on the poorly marked trail that takes you behind the gold course (you will see it on the right side as your riding. Then the trail becomes more obvious and you just enjoy the back side of the island. There will be others out there to follow or advise and of course the company will have a lot of opinions. We don’t recommend going all the way to Baby beach as we find to just drive there for a separate day trip is better. Bring or buy and bandanna by the way as the trails can be dusty. However, if time permits it would be nice to make your way to the Natural Pool. Really nice natural formation, snorkeling and swimming.

TAN AT THE VILLA POOL

The main feature element of the villa is a gorgeous 14,000 gallon salt water (not ocean water) pool. Auto lighting at night with cool blue LED’s. The lights come on around 7PM and go off around 11PM. The pool service will come by to service the pool 2 times per week during the early afternoon. They will keep it nice for you to enjoy. In Aruba we lose 1 inch of water to evaporation every 3 days. Very private, secure and usually a nice breeze. The pool area is surrounded by very tall walls allowing for excellent adult sun tanning privacy. If the water looks low please feel free to turn on the water for 30 minutes every other day. We keep the level to under the top of the skimmer. Please leave the hose in the pool always as it auto fills each morning.

SNORKELING TOURS

For chiropractic we like Van Putten. Call ahead at: +297 737 4440 His office is just 5 minutes. A typical adjust costs $100 USD.

CASINO’s

Aruba's casinos are an excellent place for those who want to experience the excitement of gaming. All major resorts have their own casino and they are generally open from noon to just before sunrise, although some casinos are open twenty-four hours a day for slots play.

BARS and DANCING

There are so many it's just best to Google: “aruba bars and nightclubs” and check them out online. There is one though that stands out for us. Check out the adults only bar at Rogers beach. It's called Rum Reef. https://www.facebook.com/rumreefaruba/ Great pool bar. Wear your bathing suit. Also we recommend the Kukookunuku bus service. CHECK IN and OUT REMINDER TO DO LIST

CHECK-OUT at 10:00 AM sharp. Contact the property manager on your rental contract 2 hours before departure for final coordination. All damage if any must be noted at check in time. If there was a mishap tell the Property manager that moment and before departure to avoid a security deposit offset. Failure to depart the home on schedule may delay cleaning services resulting in additional charges. We have a very tight window in between guests and other properties to be cleaned.

SECURITY SYSTEM: You must plug back in cameras you unplug or turn off prior to checkout. Double check this BEFORE you leave please. Please keep our home and yourselves protected.

OCCUPANCY LIMIT: This home has a strict occupancy limit of: 10 Over this will require the full security deposit to be taken and eviction. Includes day guests. No exceptions. The septic can’t handle more. As you know we verify headcount so please be upfront about lodging services used. Theft of lodging service is a serious crime in Aruba.

CLEANING: Leave the Aruba Haven in the same or better condition. Please tip for the cleaners if you found the place nice when you arrived. Typical is $25 per person.

- Don’t forget spills and stains should be cleaned up immediately.

- Please put all used laundry in the laundry room and start a load on your way out. Separate whites from colors.

- Dishes and utensils should be cleaned and returned to the draw.

- Trash should be placed in the trash container out front they will come once per week.

- Triple check - turn off ALL Air Conditioners

- Turn off ALL ceiling fans except 2 in the living room.

- Lock ALL doors plus windows and double check they are locked

- Triple check all water faucets, hoses, showers are not dripping or toilets are running. Pool bathroom? Water and Electric are insanely expensive in Aruba.

OWNER'S CLOSET – Aruba Haven has a locked private Owner's Closet that is not part of the Guest(s) rental and Guest(s) agree(s) not to disturb same.

REPAIRS & SERVICE CALLS - Agent(s) can not guarantee against mechanical failures and Guest agrees to immediately notify Agent(s) of defective or non-working items. Every effort to repair or replace defective units quickly and efficiently will be made. No refunds will be given for failure of mechanical units. Service calls resulting from neglect or misuse of the Guest shall be the Guest’s full financial responsibility.

TRASH: Please place your rubbish in the bins outside the wall Wednesday night. Pick up is early morning. The garbage

guys that come by greatly appreciate tips if you have extra rubbish and will be glad to take away anything you might have

so tip $2 usd to them if you have a whole bunch and load them up with all rubbish. They only take what is in the bin. If its on top or

next to it will not be taken without the extra “service fee”. Its just how they work in Aruba.

NON-SMOKING HOME: Smoking is permitted on outside decks only, and cigarette and cigar butts must be properly and safely disposed of in trash. Guest(s) agrees to pay not less than $500 for odor abatement if they smoke in the home.

SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDS: Cleaning/Security/Damage deposits shall be returned to tenant generally 5-10 business days or Less after check-out provided everything was left as it was found and reported at check-in. We verify EVERYTHING and count EVERYTHING. Should something have been broken or lost please advise immediately to avoid charges. Mishaps happen - We like each arriving guest to have everything in place prior to arrival. If we know it will cost less than if we discover after you check out. Please be upfront with us.
